The Texas Panhandle covers twenty-six counties across the northern tip of the state, with Amarillo at the center and a ring of smaller cities, unincorporated communities and open country around it. Most buyers start by deciding how far from Amarillo they are willing to live, because that choice sets price, school district, utilities and commute all at once.
Close to Amarillo, you are shopping neighborhoods and subdivisions on city utilities.
